Bridging is a function that most DSL modems perform, it's basically where the modem gives up it's ability to initiate a connection to the ISP, this function is then passed on to the router. Modems can only be bridged if a router is present in the network.

To bridge a modem, the customer must call their internet provider to have this done. SkyAngel does not bridge modems.

Bridging modems is userful whenever there are security features on the modem that cause buffering or server busy or even UTARP errors.

Bridging is a last resort if all other troubleshooting fails.
