Netgear Wireless Routers

Netgear wireless routers work well with SkyAngel, and are recommended.
(The firmware may appear slightly different than the pictures, but most Netgear models have very similar layouts)

Logging In

Logging In:

• Type Default Gateway (www.routerlogin.net/192.168.1.1/10.0.0.1) into URL bar.
• Enter Login Information (Default = username: admin/password: password)

The first page you see is the Basic Settings page:

Wireless Configuration

From the navigation bar, you should see Wireless Settings, located under the Setup heading.
Click this to configure the wireless settings. It will take you to the following page:

On the Wireless Settings page configure the wireless settings:

• Make sure mode is comaptible (preferrably G-only or BG Mixed)
• Make sure channel is not on auto, preferrable not on channel 6
• Make sure network name/SSID has no spaces or special characters
• Make sure Turbo Mode is disabled (if applicable)
• If wireless security is used make sure either WEP 64/128 or WPA TKIP/AES is used (WPA2 is not compatible)

SPI Firewall/DMZ

Sometimes this router has security features that interfere with SkyAngel. To correct this navigate to the WAN Setup page from the navigation column. WAN Setup is located under Advanced.

On this page check Disable SPI Firewall, if necessary check Default DMZ Host. You will need to finish the last octet of the IP address, and assign this IP to the SkyAngel STB for DMZ to work. For instructions on how to set up a Static IP address click here.
